The Weeknd has fueled rumors that he could potentially be featured on Travis Scott‘s highly anticipated upcoming album, Utopia, after making an appearance with the rapper’s mysterious briefcase.

On Friday (May 26), the Canadian superstar was seen enjoying a drink in the back passenger side of a black vehicle, while to the left of him, his bodyguard was carrying a tan leather suitcase baring the word “Utopia.”

This led fans to believe the “Blinding Lights” crooner is either producing on the album, featured on it, or both.

“Yes The Weeknd is definitely in the album. [eyes emoji] Travis and The Weeknd were at the Cannes Film Festival with Travis and indeed there was the famous UTOPIA briefcase…these are clues [spy glass emoji]. Soon the confirmation [smiley face emoji],” one fan wrote.

“This is how you market an album [fire emoji],” commented a second user, commending the lengths Scott’s team have gone to create hype around the project.

Earlier this month, the “SICKO MODE” rhymer was spotted leaving a vinyl records joint in Hollywood, CA, In tow, was his bodyguard who touted a briefcase with the word “Utopia” written in Scott’s handwriting on the front. This message was also matched by the same “Utopia” message on the bottom of Scott’s shoes.

This led to speculation that the bodyguard was in possession of the master copy of Scott’s upcoming album of the same name, with a source close to the rapper telling TMZ that Scott planned to unveil the full reveal of the album “sometime this summer.”

According to Epic Records CEO Sylvia Rhone, Travis Scott’s highly anticipated Utopia album is finally on the release calendar for the end of 2023’s quarter two.

Billboard named Rhone their Executive of the Year for the publication’s 2023 Women In Music event and spoke to her about plans for the year in the label’s Hip Hop department, which included La Flame.

“We have a new Travis Scott record, expected to come in June,” she revealed in February.
